Economics Placement Exam

The purpose of the Economics Placement Exam is to advise students whether they should take Econ 01: The Price System - Analysis, problems, and policies. Students who have studied economics prior to coming to Dartmouth may feel they don't need to take this introductory course. Econ 01 provides essential subject matter that establishes the foundation for all further study in economics at Dartmouth. The placement exam will help students understand whether they have a full understanding of this essential subject matter. The test does not confer credit and it is not something that students should study for. Either students already grasp the knowledge covered in the exam or they need further instruction in this foundational subject matter.

The Placement exam is available through the New Student Orientation Canvas course.
